Mewing
Mewing is the practice of resting your tongue on the roof of your mouth to encourage better tongue posture, popularized for its claimed jaw and midface effects.
Mewing refers to maintaining proper oral posture: the entire tongue resting against the palate, lips together, teeth lightly touching or slightly apart, and breathing through the nose. It is named after the orthodontists who popularized the concept.
Proponents claim consistent tongue posture supports facial development and jaw definition. The strong scientific evidence for dramatic bone change in adults is limited, but proper oral and nasal-breathing posture has legitimate benefits and costs nothing to practise.
Treat mewing as a free, low-risk habit rather than a miracle. Combined with low body-fat and good sleep, better posture can genuinely improve how your lower face presents.
