Gonial angle

also: jaw angle

The gonial angle is the angle of the jaw at the gonion. A well-defined gonial angle contributes to a sharp, masculine jawline.

The gonial angle is measured at the gonion — the corner of the mandible where the jawbone turns upward toward the ear. A more acute, well-defined angle tends to read as a sharper, more masculine jaw; a very obtuse angle can read as softer.

Jaw definition is a combination of bone structure and the soft tissue over it. You cannot change the bone without surgery, but you can reveal the jaw you have: lowering body-fat is by far the most effective lever, followed by good posture, staying hydrated to reduce facial bloat, and consistent tongue posture.
