Hunter eyes

Hunter eyes are deep-set, horizontally hooded eyes with a positive canthal tilt — a trait often prized in male facial aesthetics.

“Hunter eyes” is community shorthand for a specific eye shape: deep-set, with some upper-lid hooding and a neutral-to-positive canthal tilt, giving a focused, predatory appearance. The opposite is often called “prey eyes” — rounder, more exposed, with negative tilt.

The look is driven by orbital bone structure and brow-ridge projection, which are genetic. Low body-fat and reduced under-eye puffiness can enhance the appearance of depth, but the underlying shape is fixed.
