Facial thirds
also: rule of thirds
The rule of facial thirds divides the face into three vertical sections that ideally appear roughly equal — a classic proportion metric.
The rule of facial thirds divides the face horizontally into three parts: hairline to brow, brow to base of the nose, and base of the nose to the bottom of the chin. Classical aesthetics hold that a balanced face has these three sections in roughly equal proportion.
You cannot change bone, but hairstyle and grooming visually rebalance the thirds more than almost anything else — a good haircut can effectively shorten a long upper third, and facial hair can lengthen a short lower third.
